Outreach & Enrichment Coordinator (Cocurricular Programs Coordinator)

The Justice Center for Research (JCR) is seeking an independent and highly motivated professional to develop and manage an emerging outreach and enrichment initiative for the JCR (80%) and Department of Sociology and Criminology (20%). Reporting to the JCR Director, and working closely with the SOC/CRIM Analysis and Planning Consultant, Undergraduate Advisors, and the Career Enrichment Network (CEN), the Coordinator will serve as a liaison with criminal justice agency partners, alumni, faculty, and student organizations. This outreach includes, but is not limited to, the establishment of internship and employment opportunities, research and evaluation support, and external funding opportunities. This individual will also oversee JCR Advisory Board activities, promotion and advertising, and plan JCR-related special events. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The candidate must demonstrate competencies in the following areas: demonstrated experience in written and oral communication in a professional setting to/with diverse audiences; ability to understand complex materials and translate them to a variety of audiences with accuracy; social media and website management; excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with individuals, teams, and criminal justice agency partners from diverse backgrounds and differing perspectives; ability to work independently to prioritize, recommend creative solutions to problems, and deliver against tight deadlines. The successful candidate should be a highly-organized and creative self-starter who exhibits great attention to detail with excellent project management skills. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the college and the university, including the College of Liberal Arts development and undergraduate studies teams, student organizations, faculty, administrators, web team, University media relations group, and central development support units. Successful candidates must foster and maintain relationships with criminal justice agencies and alumni.
